State Street has appointed Arindam Banerrji as the firm’s country head for India. Based in Bengaluru, Banerrji reports to Lou Maiuri, president, chief operating officer, and head of investment services. He joins State Street from Wells Fargo, where he most recently served as the executive vice president and managing director for its operating centres in India and the Philippines.
Earlier this year, State Street announced that, as part of its ongoing transformation and productivity initiatives, it was streamlining its operating model in India and would assume full ownership of the company’s joint venture with the Atos Group (originally established with Syntel, Inc.). State Street has had a long-standing presence in India and has partnered with Syntel/Atos for more than 18 years. Once this consolidation is completed, State Street will have c. 15,000 employees in India.
