BNP Paribas’ securities services business has appointed Jean-Marc Friess and Thomas Durif as co-heads of its data & digital services business. Friess is appointed chief digital services officer for securities services. In his new role, he will continue to lead securities services’ digital channels and services roadmap and will take over the lead of its cognitive centre, including NOA, the bank’s recently launched AI-driven virtual assistant. In his new role as chief data officer, Durif will lead securities services’ corporate data strategy to deliver high-quality data and enhance the data governance framework. Based in France, both report to Lydie Vallese, general secretary & head of company engagement for securities services.
These appointments follow Philippe Ruault’s recent move to become CEO of SLIB, a fintech owned by BNP Paribas and Natixis. SLIB provides middle, back-office, risk management and voting solutions for financial intermediaries and corporates.
