HSBC has been appointed trustee for BlackRock’s iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (HK), the first Hong Kong-domiciled master-feeder ETF structure. BlackRock has launched its new feeder ETF after listing on the Hong Kong Exchange. This came after the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) announced the relaxation of rules for the master-feeder structure, allowing feeder structures to invest in overseas master ETFs, subject to conditions but without requiring the master ETF to go through the SFC authorisation process.
