Gemini, the crypto firm founded by the Winklevoss brothers, has acquired Omniex, a trading technology platform that provides order, execution, and portfolio management system solutions for institutional crypto trading. Omniex was founded by CEO Hu Liang and chief strategy officer John Burnett, both of whom worked at State Street. As part of this acquisition, the Omniex team will be joining Gemini to expand and drive platform capabilities for the prime services division.
