HSBC Securities Services has appointed Tony McDonnell as global head of alternative investments. For the last seven years, McDonnell has been the country head for securities services in Ireland and, since 2019, has had the additional responsibility of establishing private assets as a product across securities services.
He will now focus solely on development of the alternative assets business and will relinquish his country head responsibilities. He will continue to be based in Ireland, and will report to Sébastien Danloy, global head of asset owners and managers, and to Alan Duffy, CEO of Ireland.
