Northern Trust has appointed Areej Al-Mokbel as chief operating officer for the Middle East and Africa, responsible for overseeing business operations in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi. Al-Mokbel has spent over 12 years working in asset management and asset servicing, holding senior management and business leadership positions with HSBC Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, she held a number of technology management positions with SABB. Effat Badeeb has been appointed deputy country manager at The Northern Trust Company of Saudi Arabia. Prior to her current role, she was Northern Trust’s chief compliance officer for the Middle East. Both Al-Mokbel and Badeeb will report to Michael Slater, head of Middle East and Africa at Northern Trust.
