First Abu Dhabi Bank has announced a number of hires for its securities services business.
Francis Dassou joined as managing director. He spent 13 years at HSBC, eight in Luxembourg, and latterly in the MENA region as head of securities services, Bahrain, and regional head of global custody and fund services, MENAT. Dassou is responsible for the newly launched FAB KSA and Bahrain direct custody locations, which form part of FAB’s regional expansion strategy. Dassou is supported in FAB KSA by Shadan Al Ojan as service director, who previously worked at Al Bilad Capital.
Nigel Colgan joined as head the client management team, with responsibility for all relationship management and sales activities. Colgan was at Northern Trust, where was a senior technology sales consultant. Prior to this he held a range of roles at BNY Mellon.
Lara Dabis has taken the role of client executive, with responsibility for FAB’s SWF and global custodian relationships. Dabis previously spent 13 years at Northern Trust, in Abu Dhabi and Chicago, where she was most recently a senior relationship manager for government pensions and foundations.
Ramesh Venkatesh joined as director of product development, having spent 21 years with HSBC Securities Services. Additionally, Ahmad Naseer, currently head of product development, has been given the added responsibility of head of UAE securities services. Naseer joined FAB in 2014 from Citi.
