BNY Mellon has appointed Emily Portney as chief financial officer, effective immediately, succeeding Mike Santomassimo, who has informed the company of his decision to leave. Portney will report to Todd Gibbons, CEO, and will join the executive committee. Portney joined BNY Mellon in 2018 to run asset servicing for the Americas, and subsequently added responsibility for the client management, sales and service teams for the asset servicing business globally. She joined from Barclays International, where she was CFO, and previously spent 22 years at J.P. Morgan.
