Northern Trust has named Alison Pain as chief technology officer (CTO) for Europe, Middle East & Africa. Based in London, Pain will lead the planning, organisation, direction and control of the enterprise technology business unit across EMEA. She reports to Tom South, chief information officer at Northern Trust, with a local reporting line to Teresa Parker, president for EMEA at Northern Trust. Pain replaces Joerg Guenther, who left last year to join Citi. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Pain was a managing director at Deutsche Bank. Previously, she spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs, leading infrastructure service and application development functions in EMEA and globally.
